Shanita Rush, born in Washington, DC, grew up in Southern Maryland.
Shanita’s artistic and creative talents were apparent at a very young age, she began writing poems and songs at the age of eight.
Shanita's parents immediately recognized her love for music and sought private vocal training at ten. Although, she is a classical and blues trained singer, her first love has always been Hip-Hop and R&B.
Equipped with talent and beauty that can’t be ignored. It's apparent that the camera loves her pretty face and 5’8” hourglass frame. In Shanita's sophomore year of high school, she was approached by a scout to enter a modeling contest. One of the judges at the competition was the CEO of an independent label. During a talent segment, Shanita performed a song she had written; impressed by her talent, the Executive awarded Shanita studio time to complete her song. Shanita worked diligently at sharpening and developing her craft. It wasn't long before she captured the attention of local and nationally recognized producers who wanted to work with her.
In 2010 Shanita release her first mixtape “The Last Bad B*tch”. Shanita was the executive producer of the mixtape credited with engineered over half the songs on the project. June 2012, Shanita signed a 2 year contract with 5050 Music Group/ INgroove-Fontana/Universal Music Group. In 2013 Shanita released “Rush Hour” her first mixtape since signing with the label. The project is a well-balanced combination of industry covers, original tracks and features showcasing Shanita's diverse style and flow.
Shanita is once again an independent artist and continues to evolve as an entertainer; as she adds model and actress to her list of artistic expression, with rolls in two indie films and C.E.O. (Criminal Enterprise Organization) cable television series. This multifaceted artist is poised for super stardom. Stay Tuned!
